poing readme
13 april 2002

This archive contains the latest public poing version (v7.00) and
a number of levelsets. The reason for this archive is that I still
get requests for it every now and then.

The levelsets are partially made by 3rd parties. They should be
credited for it, but I lost the original archives. Sorry.

Official support for poing is dead, but it's still a fine game
to test yer latest amiga emulator every now and then :-).

Mini FAQ
========

Q: How do I run poing with a specific levelset?
A: Use: poing -f<name_of_levelset_minus_.levels>

For example, "poing -f jb1" uses the 'jb1.levels' levelset.

Q: The program nags about a POING: volume.
A: If you don't supply the '-f' argument (or run from icon), the
program assumes "POING:default.levels". The need for the POING:
assignment comes from the fact that when you run from workbench,
there is no consistent (across OS versions anyway) current
   directory.

You can live without the POING: assignment if you stick to
   the -f option.

Q: The program nags about a missing keyfile. How do I register?
A: You don't. Poing is free. The keyfile is a property of a levelset.
Only the owner of that keyfile can edit the levelset.

Q: So, how do you obtain such keyfile?
A: It is created automatically (*.key) when you create a new levelset.

Enjoy!
